Master's Work Showcase
The following links connect you to five examples of my work from different courses I have taken through my Master's Program at MSU. I feel that these five assignments showcase my time at MSU. These were either one of my favorite assignments or something that I really learned from in the course. Click on each course to see my showcase!
CEP 806 - Inquiry Project 2
This is a paper I wrote for my CEP 806 course - Learning Science with Technology. We would complete Inquiry Projects throughout the course. This Inquiry Project I related to online demonstrations.
CEP 842 - A Unit Plan for a Diverse Classroom
This assignment was for the class CEP 842 - Instruction in an Inclusive Classroom. I created this unit plan around my science unit on genetics. For this course, we were taught different ways to create a diverse classroom.
TE 849 - Literature Autobiography
I wrote this essay for my class TE 849 - Methods and Materials for Teaching Children's and Adolescent Literature. I really loved this class! This assignment really opened my eyes to my life as a reader. This was a great assignment for the beginning of this course because this TE 849 didn't focus on teachers as teachers of reading, but as teachers as actual readers themselves.
TE 842 - Improving Comprehension in my Social Studies Curriculum
For this project I researched different techniques in order to improve my lessons that I teach for my eighth grade history class. I focused specifically on the Civil War since that is the topic that is the main focus during the school year. I wrote about how I supplemented my lessons with smaller lessons found on the internet. I felt that the students really enjoyed these lessons and really understood the material.
TE 848 - Teaching Project - Social Studies
This project I also introduced to my eighth grade history class. The students first related their lives with the lives of people for the 1800s. The students also created blogs on Kidsblog.com. The students really enjoyed adding to their blog and I think they really interacted with the social studies material to get something out of it. (This was for last year's class, I haven't had this year's class do this yet.)
